Your Cancer Breakthroughs ("YCB," "we," "us") is an independent cancer-research aggregator operated by a sole proprietor based in the United States. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible and we never sell your information.

The short version
We index and summarize publicly available, peer-reviewed cancer research. Reading the site requires no account.
If you choose to subscribe to email alerts, we collect your email address, your name, the cancer types and research categories you're interested in, and how often you'd like to hear from us — only to send you the research you asked for.
We use Google Analytics to understand site usage, but only if you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, we do not track your visit.
Our email service records when subscribers open our emails and click links, so we can improve what we send.
We never sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that operate the site and the email system.
You can update your preferences or delete your information at any time using the link in any email we send.
Information we collect
When you simply visit the site
If you accept analytics cookies (see "Cookies and analytics" below), we collect standard usage information through Google Analytics, such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, not precise), your device and browser type, and how you move through the site. This helps us understand what's useful and improve it. If you decline analytics cookies, this information is not collected.
We do not ask visitors to log in, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal details from people who only read the site.

We understand that telling us which cancer types interest you is sensitive. We treat it with care: it is used only to decide which research to email you, it is never sold, and it is never shared except with the providers that make the email service work.
When you receive our emails
Our email provider records when our emails are opened and when links inside them are clicked. We use this to understand whether our emails are useful and to improve them. If you'd prefer not to be counted, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Cookies and analytics

SendGrid — delivers our email alerts and records email opens and link clicks.
Zapier — passes your subscription form information from the website to our email system.
Bitly — shortens and counts clicks on links we post to social media. (This applies to links shared on our social media accounts, not to the website or to your email alerts.)
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy and security terms. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Where the research comes from
The research we index is published by others (such as PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and medical journals). We collect, index, and summarize it; we are not the publisher, and indexing an article does not mean we endorse it. The site is for information only and is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your own situation.
Your choices and rights
Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
Update your interests (cancer types, categories, frequency) using the preferences link in any email.
Delete your information — unsubscribing removes you from our active mailing list. To request full deletion of your stored information, email info@yourcancerbreakthroughs.com and we will remove it.
Decline analytics — choose "Decline" in the cookie banner, and Google Analytics will not run for you.
Access your information — email us at the address above to ask what we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Contact us and we will do our best to honor them.
Children
This site is intended for adults seeking cancer research. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes affecting subscribers will be communicated by email.
